Lead, dispute and placement policies

How we decide what you pay for, how to challenge a charge, and how we keep search results fair for learners. See pricing for plan prices.

What counts as a billable lead

A lead is billed only if all of these are true:

  1. The learner sent the enquiry form for a specific course of yours.
  2. They verified their email address within 48 hours, and their phone number is in a valid format.
  3. It isn't a duplicate. An enquiry from the same email or phone number to you within 30 days is marked as a duplicate and not billed.
  4. It wasn't flagged by our spam checks, which include hidden form fields, limits on enquiries from one connection and blocking of disposable email addresses.

Unverified, duplicate and spam enquiries still appear in your dashboard so you can see them, but you're never charged for them.

How leads are priced

Each lead costs the plan's minimum price or a percentage of the course price, whichever is higher. We use the course price at the moment the lead arrives, so later price changes don't affect leads you've already received. Courses without a price are charged the minimum.

Lead price by plan
PlanMinimumPercentage of course price
Basic£103%
Pro£51.5%
Premium£41%

Leads are added to your next monthly invoice through Stripe. All prices are in GBP; we're not VAT registered, so no VAT is added.

Disputing a lead

You can dispute a billed lead from your dashboard within 7 days of receiving it, for one of these reasons:

  • the contact details are fake,
  • it's a duplicate we didn't catch,
  • the enquiry is about a course you don't offer, or
  • the learner can't be contacted.

Our team reviews every dispute. If we accept it, the charge is credited on your next invoice. Either way, you'll see the outcome and our note next to the lead in your dashboard.

Lead budgets

You can set a monthly lead budget. We email you when you reach 80% and 100% of it. Once it's reached, learners see a link to your website instead of the enquiry form until your next billing period starts or you raise the budget.

How search ranking works

Results are ordered by a score made up of three parts:

  • Relevance to what the learner searched for (the largest part, up to 100 points).
  • Listing quality (up to 20 points): how complete the listing is, its reviews and how quickly the provider replies to enquiries.
  • Plan boost: Basic +0, Pro +15, Premium +30.

Paid providers are not simply placed above free ones: a more relevant, better-quality listing can rank higher whatever plan it's on.
